WE THE PEOPLE
who draw a cartoon every day
paint a page in a healing journal
create an artist trading card collage scrapbook page tattoo prayer
CELEBRATE
vision moment dream nightmare anecdote aphorism funny sign
graffiti bumper sticker
on the back of a business card in a blog in a video photo poem
write on a WALL
or – GASP – in a book,
yes, write right on top of the publisher's pristine page.
VANDALS every one of us who challenges
the smug pornography of perfection.
We draw where we must,
we make a mess, move on,
each page reflects the new world that we will to be,
another layer of collage on this multilayered world.

Please pass this along to your friends and colleagues. Or put it on your blog. I sat down and wrote this the other morning, in one draft. I've touched it up a little since then, but only to add a couple of things (references to tattoo and prayer). I was trying to sum up the "tribe" to which I feel that I belong here on the Internet, as a human being trying to be creative and share my creativity with others.
